February 28th, 2006

Well, I am England now. Kensington, London, England, to be exact. The flight was uneventful as it was a redeye, however I was sitting next to a Hare Krishna. I was in my seat on the plane and I saw him coming down. "I bet he's sitting next to me," I thought to myself. Bingo. At least he didn't stink or try to convert me. He actually just slept or listened to weird music the whole time. There were some perks too. I guess he was vegan or something like that because he would give all the stuff that he couldn't eat. Oh, and on that note, British Airways is awesome. They serve you a pre-dinner cocktail, and then wine with your meal for free. I didn't even have to bust out my flask. I got in to Heathrow at 12 and took the Underground from the airport to the hotel I am staying at. I realized that it was the first time I had ever been on a subway anywhere. London looks pretty much like you've seen it in every English movie. We did get a tiny bit of snow today though while I was walking around. Heck, I didn't even know it snows here.

I slept for about 2 or 3 hours on the plane, so that brings my total for the last 2 nights to 7 hours. I don't really feel tired right now though, and it is already 5PM here. I just went for a walk around the city taking some pictures. There is a huge old cemetery that I walked though for a while. The most recent grave that I saw was 1920. I'll try to post some photos when I have my usb cable on me.

I head to Stansted, London tomorrow after Mass at the London Oratory, and then I am of to Porto, Portugal early the morning after. Hopefully it will be a little bit warmer.
